Seider leads best individual games so far

Ultra competitive players will have a little less than half a season to unseat Munich’s Moritz Seider from the top of the list of best individual performances of Season 18.

According to Websim’s Star Points formula, the Red Bulls blueliner had the best game so far this season when on Oct. 23 (game time) he exploded for three goals and an assist in a 7-1 win over Liverpool and goalie Jake Oettinger. He also was +3 and had 7 shots on goal.

Defensemen must get a little more love in the formula because on Thursday Dominik Lakatos had more of an offensive impact with four goals, one assist and 9 shots against Zurich and Dustin Wolf. He also blocked 2 shots, was +2, and won 18 of 29 faceoffs. That performance tied Lakatos for second on the Star Points list behind Seider. Mathew Barzal of Lisbon had 3 goals, an assist and was +5 against Madrid on Nov. 20 and his points score was the same as Lakatos’.

Barzal also shows up in fourth and fifth place on the list for huge games that also occurred in November.

The top performance by a goalie occurred in Edinburgh’s third game of the season when Jeremy Swayman stopped 41 shots in a 5-0 win over Kosice.

While Helsinki players show up an incredible 41 times on the Star Points list so far this season, no Jokerit has yet made the Top 10 (see below).
