Mattias Sjogren, Tyler Myers and Connor McDavid have crowns to defend this weekend. They are the three won last season’s skills competition for, respectively, fastest skater, hardest shot and most accurate shooter.
While no player will represent his team in all 3 events, several will compete in two events this Saturday:
- Par Arlbrandt, Milan (Fastest Skater, Most Accurate)
- Maxim Chudinov, Minsk (Fastest Skater, Most Accurate)
- Filip Forsberg, Munich (Fastest Skater, Most Accurate)
- Nathan MacKinnon, Belfast (Fastest Skater, Most Accurate)
- Auston Matthews, Copenhagen (Hardest Shot, Most Accurate)
- Nazem Kadri, Geneva (Hardest Shot, Most Accurate)
- Jack Eichel, Stockholm (Fastest Skater, Hardest Shot)
- Kris Letang, Paris (Fastest Skater, Hardest Shot)
- John Tavares, Lisbon (Fastest Skater, Hardest Shot)
Favorites
The host Oslo Outlaws have a decent chance of crowning at least one champion on Saturday; maybe even all three.
Fastest Skater: Everyone except Sidney Crosby and Nikita Kucherov can be considered a favorite. Due to player evolution, there are a lot of players with 100 in the Speed column of their attributes. Oslo fans will be cheering loudest for Tyler Seguin.
Hardest Shot: Two forwards, Oslo’s Chris Kreider and Copenhagen’s Auston Matthews are considered the favorites. Tyler Myers of Bratislava has the best chance among the rest.
Accurate Shooter: Defending champion Connor McDavid is the favorite, but he will have to be at his best to repeat. The strongest challenges will come from Nathan MacKinnon (Belfast), Ryan Nugent-Hopkins (Berlin) and Erik Karlsson (Paris).
