Recently, it was announced that three GMs made the trip to the league office in Vienna and each one of them was assigned to a team.
We have later learned thar accountant Rose was disappointed that none of the GMs had brought any gifts as a token of appreciation of her hard work for the league. That all changed when Milan Guerrerio HC General Manager David Bell stepped in the building with chocolate and flowers on Saturday.
Rose flew up from her chair in joy, spilled coffee all over next years league budget, while commissioner Massaro stood in his office peeping threw the door, staring at the budget report, thinking, “please no more budget cuts, Bratislava can’t take it.”
Rose hurried to receive the gifts, only to realize the gifts were not for her. Mr. Bell walked straight past her, and right in to the Director of Discipline and Player Safety Sepp Blatter’s office.
He closed the door behind him and Rose could hear them through the door talking and laughing. “That’s how you present an application for a team in the fabulous World Cup” she could hear Blatter pleasingly say.
“Only an American can manage Team USA the right way” Blatter cheered. “It’s a done deal!”
The new GM of Team USA eventually stepped out of the office and looked at Rose, still holding one hand behind his back and said “Of course the flowers are for a lady like you!”
