The Bern Bears and the Geneva Generals, two Swiss rivals, have become the first EURO League teams to clinch playoff berths. With less than 20 games remaining in each team’s regular season schedule. Bern has 97 points, which is 41 more than Paris, the ninth-place team in the Southern Conference. Geneva is a point behind…
For the first weeks of the first EURO Hockey League season, Jason Spezza and his Bern Bear teammates seemed to be dominating the stats sheets. Two-thirds of the way into the season, however, the landscape looks different. Among the top 32 scorers in the league, 18 teams are represented. Prague has four skaters in the…
Helsinki 4, Madrid 2 With Alex Tanguay out of commission for three weeks or more with a back injury, the Madrid Royals had trouble generating enough offense in Helsinki on Wednesday. Jordan Staal scored two goals to pull them into a 2-2 tie with the Jokerit, but Dainus Zubrus came up with a big third-period…

Lou stopped close-in shots like some of the 12 Tyler Bozak and Jeff Skinner took, and long shots like the 5 that Derek Morris fired at him, and everything in between. In all, Luongo stopped 31 London shots. It was…
