Websim Hockey’s newest feature is “Stars History” which appears in the Standings tab. It is a way to gauge how well a player does in a game and it’s based on his stats from that game. Only the top three performances of the day make it onto the list, although everyone’s stats go into weekly and monthly lists too.
Below are the Top 10 (11 actually because there was a tie in there) performances from the last regular season. The only performance from the playoffs that would have cracked that list was Kyle Connor’s 3-goal, 1-assist, 11-shot, +3 game in Helsinki’s 6-5 win over Dublin, but let’s stick a huge, red, bold-faced asterisk on that one since that game went into triple overtime … 117 minutes.
And the top two performances came in the same game, when linemates Nathan MacKinnon and Mitch Marner went ballistic against Madrid on Oct. 7.
- NATHAN MACKINNON, Belfast vs. Madrid 10.6 (3 goals, 3 assists, 8 shots, +3)
- MITCH MARNER, Belfast vs. Madrid 10.4 (3 goals, 3 assists, 7 shots, +3)
- ALEX DEBRINCAT, Oslo vs. Edinburgh 9.8 (3 goals, 2 assists, 4 shots, +5)
- THOMAS CHABOT, Athens vs. Madrid 9.6 (2 goals, 2 assists, 3 shots, +4)
- KRISTIAN KUUSELA, Lisbon vs. Milan 9.4 (4 goals, 0 assists, 7 shots, +4)
- ANDREAS JOHNSON, Belfast vs. Dublin 9.3 (4 goals, 1 assist, 4 shots, +3)
- TYLER SEGUIN, Helsinki vs. Prague 9.1 (4 goals, 0 assists, 8 shots, +3)
- MATHEW BARZAL, Lisbon vs. Athens 9.1 (3 goals, 2 assists, 3 shots, +4)
- DOMINIK LAKATOS, London vs. Lisbon 9 (4 goals, 1 assists, 5 shots, +2)
- ERIK KARLSSON, Helsinki vs. London 9 (3 goals, 0 assists, 5 shots, +4)
- K’ANDRE MILLER, Copenhagen vs. Liverpool 9 (3 goals, 0 assists, 5 shots, +4)
No player was named Player of the Month more than once, but Helsinki’s Cup-winning goalie Andres De La Garma made it into the Top 3 of three different months. Making it into the Top 3 in two different months were Auston Matthews of Copenhagen and Nathan MacKinnon of Belfast.
