GMs can vote on Hall of Fame candidates

Signs in Copenhagen, Denmark, advertise the EURO League Hall of Fame.

A fourth class of candidates has been announced for induction into the EURO Hockey League Hall of Fame. General Managers will receive the official ballot in the e-mail accounts associated with their Websim account.

Three players and a “builder” were the first four people voted into the Hall of Fame, however no one made it in on the last three ballots. To gain entry to the EURO Hall of Fame ( https://eurohockeyleague.wordpress.com/hall-of-fame/ ) a player will have to earn a certain number of voting points, so there could be years in which no one is voted in and that’s not a bad thing because there are still many great players like Steven Stamkos, Alex Pietrangelo and John Tavares who are still playing and will surely make it into the Hall of Fame. In fact, many players on the All-Decade Team have yet to retire (https://eurohockeyleague.wordpress.com/2020/03/05/all-decade-team-selected/)

The timing of this vote is to give the majority of general managers something to do in the EURO League while the last eight teams fight it out in the playoffs. The deadline to submit this ballot will be Sept. 30. To get a clearer picture of how these players did, we recommend going to the stats page on Websim and sorting by “Career and All teams.” If you need help getting there, contact the commissioner. Goalies who played fewer than 500 games are not eligible.

To vote, give a numerical value ranging from 10 to 1, with 10 being “Should Definitely be in” to 1 “Shouldn’t have even been nominated.”

Here is an example of the rating scale: 10 – Should definitely be in, a real superstar. 9 – Not the best player in the league while he played, but should be in. 8 – Always thought of as a very good player. A perennial all-star. 7 – Good but not great 6 – Solid player 5 – Had a couple of really good years 4 – 3 – Did well as a third liner 2 – 1 – Wait, he played in this league?

To minimize attempts to inflate or sabotage (hey, it could happen) the commissioner will throw out the top and bottom votes and average the remainder. A minimum score of 8.1 will be required to gain entry into the Hall.

This ballot is divided into three sections (hit NEXT to continue), goalies are listed first, then defensemen, followed by forwards. Within their positions, players are listed alphabetically. I need your e-mail so I know no one voted more than once.
