McDavid, linemate Thurkauf enjoyed biggest games

Connor McDavid and his linemate in Oslo, Calvin Thurkauf, produced the best single games of the season, according to Websim’s Star Points formula.

On Feb. 13 (game calendar) against Dublin, both McDavid and Thurkauf had 3 goals and 3 assists. Thurkauf took 8 shots, McDavid 6. They were both +2 in a close 7-6 win in Ireland. Thurkauf’s 10.1 rating tied him with Mark Dano of Copenhagen for the best game of the season, but that stellar grade would be bettered 11 days later by McDavid.

In an 8-2 win over Stockholm, McJesus poured 4 goals into the Swedes’ net (on only 4 shots) and he also added an assist. He was +5 that day. His 10.3 rating was the best single game performance of the season.

Just yesterday, Tomas Hertl recorded a 9.3 game in a playoff win over Minsk. It wasn’t the first time he reached that mark this year. On Jan. 7 against Hanover, he scored 2 goals, had 3 assists and a +5 rating.
