A Question:

Can Milan continue going up? Milan made a nice jump in the standings last season, going from 72 points to 85 in a year. At first glance, they should be able to maintain that upward trajectory. Milan made a shift toward youth in recent years and the “family” is maturing together. The oldest men in the lineup are center Ryan O’Reilly (35), defensemen Ryan McDonagh (37), Josh Morrissey and Ryan Pulock and they are only 30. In Websim, player attributes generally improve a little every half-season, so the team should be a little better due to natural evolution. A key member of the team is slick passer and co-Rookie of the Year Dominic Canic, who should see more ice time, perhaps as center for Jason Robertson and Robby Fabbri.

Rose’s Focus

“Everybody seems to be afraid to tell General Manager David “Don Campana” Bell the bad things. Well, wait a minute, that’s totally not accurate. I shouldn’t say “everybody.” There was that guy a few years ago who mentioned the forwards were thinking too defensively. What was his name? Come to think of it, where did he go? I don’t think I’ve seen him since then. He had a nice build on him. Anyway, Don Campana, your penalty killing needs some work. Overall, the team was 13th in the standings, and your PP was 6th-best thanks to guys like Robby Fabbri, Alex Tuch, Matthew Tkachuk and Jason Robertson. But your penalty killers were 17th and on top of that, you lost one of your better defensive forwards this off-season when Tyler Johnson left for beautiful Bratislava. The late signing of Ryan O’Reilly will help. You could try to take fewer penalties, but that might be a flimsy plan because your building always has that Italian temper surging through it thanks to your hairy fans. You might have to resort to threatening opposing PP players. LOL. Just kidding.”
