The Geneva Generals stay in Switzerland to open their season, but they are the away team in Bern tonight. Six Geneva players who either haven’t played a EURO League game yet or who just have a few games under their belt will be suited up for the contest and for new GM Jory S. August Impose looks to be the starter at RW on the third line and will line up with Pius Suter and Christian Dvorak on his line. Dvorak has played 7 seasons, but Suter and Impose have played in 10 total. Other newcomers in the lineup include defenseman J.J. Moser, goalie Noah Paixao, and forwards Yegor Chinakov and Louis Boudon.

Sergei Mozyakin starts a second tour of duty with the Belfast Giants when they take on their rivals in Ireland, the Dublin Guinness Chuggers. Mozyakin, 32, came to Belfast the first time when he was 23 in a trade with Geneva. He had seasons of 48 and 44 points before moving to St. Petersburg/Amsterdam where his career blossomed. The Russian centers the Giants’ second line with Mitch Marner and Tyler Ennis on his wings.

Defensemen Jeff Chychrun and center Brett Howden will get their starts as Ajax players tonight in Greece, where Amsterdam opens the season against Athens. Chychrun and Howden came to Denmark in a trade for Sergei Mozyakin and they should get top 6 minutes against goalie Andres De La Garma and the Gods. It will be the first EURO League game for Amsterdam GM Frank Petrucci.
