Ramo, Bogosian set league records

Helsinki teammates Karri Ramo and Zach Bogosian both set new league records this season, playng for the league’s top team. The veterans are both in their first season with the Jokerit. Both can probably give team defense partial credit for their records.

Ramo, who played a decade in Frankfurt/Lisbon, compiled a 2.09 goals against average in 70 games to erase the 2.12 record Carey Price set with Minsk in Season 6. But Ramo’s record was no fluke. He’s been good in his EURO League career. With Lisbon, Ramo put together fice consecutive seasons with a GAA under 3.00.

Bogosian was -1 in the Jokerits’ season-ending loss to Belfast, but he finishes the year with a +76 plus-minus rating, one better than the previous record.

As a team, Helsinki tied the record Belfast set for most goals in a season. They scored 349 times. They also came close to tying the record for most efficient power play. Their 25.1 rate was just short of the record of 25.2 percent.

The only other record set in Season 12 was achieved by the Oslo Outlaws, whose 5.7 penalty minutes per game is the lowest average in history.

Dublin almost tied two records – one good and one bad. If the Guinness Chuggers would have allowed one more goal, they would have tied a bad record that was set in Season 1 by Frankfurt (now Lisbon). And the team’s top defenseman, Hampus Lindholm, fell 2 short of the blocked shots record.
