Paris GM Lockhart finds instant depth in free agents

Defensemen Kevin Dallman and Alex Goligoski were teammates in Copenhagen for 53 games of Season 2 when Dallman started his EURO career, but before that season ended, Dallman had been traded away. Suddenly, they are teammates again.

Rather than call on farm team members Steve Oleksy or Sam Girard to replace injured Kris Letang, Paris GM Donald Lockhart took a dip into the free agent pool and pulled out the veterans Dallman and Goligoski. Young Rasmus Andersson was then sent to the Francais Volants farm team so now, the Rouge Eiffels have plenty of experience to call upon as they try to get past Berlin and into the third round against the winner of the Milan-Bratislava series.  Dallman moves up to the 2nd pair with Travis Hamonic and Goligoski teams with Ivan Provorov.

Dallman and Goligoski are ranked 39th and 40th, respectively, on the all-time scoring list for defensemen in the EURO League.

Dallman won the Season 3 Cup with Moscow a year after coming to the team in a trade. He was then signed by Gothenburg for the next 3 seasons and after that, Munich employed him until the end of last season, when he played 77 games, scored 41 points and was -22. In 62 career playoff games, Dallman scored 28 points.

The 36-year-old Goligoski played for Lisbon last year and scored 18 points in 18 games and was -7. He was with Copenhagen from Season 1-4 and then he played with Athens from 5-9. Goligoski has 122 playoff games under his belt and he will have played in the playoffs in all 11 seasons of the league. In Season 9, he played just 1 regular season game, but the Gods played in in 6 playoff games and he scored 3 points.

Still, the loss of Letang will hurt. No other defenseman in league history has more playoff points than the 95 he has scored in 143 playoff games.
