Alexey Toropchenko is taken by Zurich to open the second round of the draft.

In the first round, Zurich GM Dennis Sullo picked a Moscow-born right wing. In the second round, he picked a Moscow-born right wing. Expect a call from Special Counsel Robert Mueller, Dennis.

Alexey Toropchenko, a 6-foot-tall, 21-year-old Moscow native joins Alexandre Polunin on the Lions and both are expected to add offense.

Toropchenko is not speedy like Polunin is, and he doesn’t seem to move well on the ice, but he has a knack for getting involved in scoring plays in front of the opposition net. The  NHL St. Louis Blues drafted him in 2017 and he has a good chance of playing for them some day. But Toropchenko and his family members said he would obviously prefer to play for Sullo in the EURO League.
