Attila the Goalie goes to Munich

Munich took the first goalie in the draft and Attila Adorjan also became the first Hungarian/Romanian player in league history.

Munich Red Bull GM Grant Sayle’s team has some young firepower up front with the likes of Sean Monahan, Filip Forsberg and Clayton Keller but they need a young goalie and Sayle had a few to choose from at 6th overall in the draft. Adorjan, although small,  has great reflexes and good hand-eye coordination, but it will take some time for him to be EURO-ready. Many experts think the youngster would be better served to spend a few seasons with the Hamburg Freezers before he gets a call-up to the big team.

The selection of Adorjan likely means German Felix Bruckmann will get less of a chance to become the team’s number one goalie in the future, but if all goes as planned, Red Bull will have a very solid and dependable pair of goalies.
