Mueller fastest; Hertl hardest; Hall most accurate

He’s only getting fourth-line minutes in Milan these days and he’s never scored 30 points in a season, but Minnesota-born Peter Mueller can rightfully claim to be the fastest thing on skates in the EURO League. The right wing narrowly edged Belfast winger and Season 6 champ Evander Kane in the league’s Fastest Skater during the All-Star Game Skills Competition in Moscow. In his home country, Alexander Radulov of the Helsinki Jokerit placed third. The home fans were loudest when Dynamo defenseman Nick Leddy skated and the underdog placed 11th. Oslo Outlaw forward Tomas Hertl ripped a puck hard enough to claim the Hardest Shot title, becoming the first forward to win it in the 8 seasons of the Skills Competition. This season, Hertl is on pace to finish well below his career-best totals of 24 goals and 163 shots on goal, and that has EURO goalie breathing a sigh of relief. Madrid wing Chris Kreider placed second and Dublin defenseman Dustin Byfuglien finished third. Byfuglien has won the title three times in the past and he placed third two other years. The Moscow crowd cheered on their new winger, big Wei Yang Zhang, to a 7th place finish. (The column next to the name is the player’s rating, while the right column shows the final score after a random number was applied.)

Erik Karlsson uncharacteristically wasn’t in the hunt for the Accuracy title this season. He was only sixth. The battle for the title came down to two players who play in the British Isles, with London forward Taylor Hall claiming the title ahead of Edinburgh’s Jamie Benn. Geneva General center Nazem Kadri was third. The hometown favorite, Max Pacioretty, tied Karlsson for sixth. (The column next to the name is the player’s rating, while the right column shows the final score after a random number was applied.)
