In Moscow’s last game, Chris Stewart delivered a high hit against the boards on Stockholm defenseman John Klingberg.  The Eagle player went to ice hard and had to be helped off the ice. Now Klinberg is injured and out of Stockholm’s lineup and Stewart has been issued a one-game suspension.

“We have to make it clear to players that they can’t go around hurting other. It was obvious Stewart didn’t have to be as violent with his hit on Klingberg and we hope he uses better judgment in the future,” said Sepp Blatter, the league’s Director of Player Safety and Discipline. “And any assertions that I make decisions based on the amount of financial contributions that GMs make to the EURO League’s  executive contingency fund are relatively false.”
