You may have seen me experimenting with what data is available to me on websim in an attempt to extrapolate possession numbers. This is relatively easy to eyeball, especially for someone who has been reading up on the stats that are becoming more popular (corsi,fenwick, and PDO are the most popular) on twitter, blogs, and even newspapers or more conventional media outlets (James Mirtle and Scott Cullen come to mind). However, not everyone is familiar with the “new” possession stats, and I thought it might be fun for those who are to look at numbers that are more definite or clear. Let’s call them “precise guesses.”

I think it’s important to make it clear where I’m using exact stats from websim and where I’m making educated guesses. I will make some guesses with a high degree of confidence, others with very little confidence. But I will always make it clear why I am or am not confident. Hope you guys enjoy!

PS, if stats aren’t your thing, ignore me, unfriend me, just don’t rant at me like I’ve seen some people do on social media. Not that anyone on here would, of course.
