Playing before another packed house in St. Petersburg, the Red Stars refused to die Monday. Falling behind Paris 1-0 early when Corey Perry scored his 11th goal of the playoffs, St. Pete clawed their way back and took a 3-1 lead into the second period. Top line center Brad Richards took an Erik Cole pass and converted it into a goal to tie the game with 7:17 left in the first. Valterri Filppula scored a powerplay goal with just under 2 minutes left in the first and 21 seconds later, Russian Artem Anisimov scored what would be the game-winning goal. Pekka Rinne gave up a goal to Evgeny Malkin late in the second period, but that was it. He made 24 saves and was named the third star of the game behind Richards and Brent Burns of St. Petersburg. Burns assisted on the Richards and Filppula goals. He also had 4 hits in his 26 minutes of ice time. Richards was an offensive force, with 7 shots and 2 points. Penalties hurt Paris in this game, especially when they were trailing and trying to regain momentum. Twice they were called for having too many men on the ice, and all told, they gave the Petrograd powerplay units 8 chances. The finals series moves back to Paris tonight with both teams fully healthy and rested.
