*Player added to give team at least one representative
**Player added to even out teams; had most votes among the players in that conference who did not make the original team
Commissioner’s notes:
I unilaterally decided to add players from six teams that weren’t represented. No one who originally made the team was supplanted.
I also gave Luongo the start in goal. He and Lundquist tied with 36 votes each, but Luongo has all-star game seniority.
For the second straight year, St. Petersburg led all teams in all-star representatives with 4, which is 2 fewer than they had last season. Five teams had three players voted onto the team: Zurich, Dublin, Oslo, Gothenburg and Paris.
For the second straight year, the entire starting forward line for the Northern Conference is from one team. Last season, they were all from St. Petersburg. This season, Ryan Kesler, Bobby Ryan and Phil Kessel, all of Dublin, will start the game.
The player with the most votes who will not be playing in the all-star game is Prague center Ryan Getzlaf, whose 12 votes weren’t good enough.
