Dealing with Change: GMs might have to alter plans in wake of financial rule overhaul

GMs all have new team owners to answer to and they each have certain goals they want reached. It would be worth the GM’s time to look over the “GM Office” section of the game. Here is WSH’s new financial rule in a nutshell.
Finances 2.0: How it works
Significant changes were made to the financial aspect of the game under version 2.0.

We spent a lot of time testing and trying different ways to make this work so that it is fair to every GM of the community, despite the city their team is playing in.

The new method is linked with your Finance attribute from last season and focuses on three elements that you have complete control on:
1. Invest in finance
Investing in finances is always a good thing for the owner.

From New York to Nashville, the more you invest in finances, the more money your owner will make. A maximum of 20 points are available on your Finance attribute calculation.

2. Maximize Arena Revenus
In the past, GMs were required to build an arena for their team and were allowed to add more seats ever year if needed.

Now the owner puts you in command of the team with an arena that is already built.

Your task is to maximize ticket & concessions revenus for every home game.

3. Comply to Payroll Budget
A team payroll budget is given to you by the owner. The budget is obtained by taking many factors in consideration, such as our brand new team CGR indicator (Capacity to generate revenues), the league salary cap and average team payroll.

Your budget is used to evaluate your performance on managing the payroll. The number of points you can earn is directly related with the difficulty to reach the objective.

A minimum of 20 points are given for complying to the budget in the case of a very easy objective.

Finance attribute vs Team Debt Ranking
Your team’s debt ranking used to be the determining factor to evaluate your finance performance. This method was not fair because as a GM, you are only responsible for about 20% of the financial performance of the team.

From now on, we will use your Finance attribute from the last season to determine if you should have a team payroll limit and to fix your investments budget.
